7 Tips For Traveling With Your Baby
7 Tips For Traveling With Your Baby
Travelling with a baby can unravel a whole new set of experiences for you. Think of all the delightful scenes your baby would be exposed to, and your own delight at this happiness of new discoveries.
While that can be an enriching experience, travelling with babies can also end up leaving a poor taste in the mouth – if the trip was not adequately prepared for, that is.
Next time you are taking your baby on the roads of Singapore or showing him/ her what the outsides look like, here are some tips to live by:

1. Bring the toys

Babies have a shorter attention span than adults and so, can get bored very fast. You will want to address this situation by bringing toys they can play with on the journey. To better your chances, bring a lot of their favourite toys.

2. Bring extra clothes/ diapers

It is advisable to layer your baby’s clothing when travelling by air. When they get too hot, the layers can be reduced or added to when they get colder.
Babies are also not in total charge of their bowels and can make a mess anytime. Combating this would be preparing multiple diapers (even more than they use on a regular day). Speaking of messes…

3. Pack a sanitizer

Babies drool and stool a lot, besides other messes they can make. To keep yourself (and your bay) healthy during the trip, you should grab a Hand and Body sanitizer.
Note that this is meant for adults when handling babies, not the baby itself. With the sanitizer, you would not only be keeping yourself healthy but making sure you don’t infect the baby with germs.

4. Take shorter trips

When travelling with a baby, shorter trips are advisable compared to longer ones. If it’s more than 6 hours, we would advise holding off till the baby grows older.
If you must go on long trips, plan to take breaks at specified intervals. Sitting for too long can just have as adverse an effect on babies as it does on adults too.

5. Bring the snacks

If your baby has started taking solid food, nothing stops you from bringing snacks on that trip – lots of it. The good thing about snacks is that they help you keep your baby fed till you can fix them a proper meal. And oh, don’t forget to bring the drinks too!

6. Pack baby medicine

You should never forget to pack your baby’s medication when preparing for the trip. You should also grab a Multipurpose Baby Balm to prepare for unforeseen circumstances.
The balm helps to relieve stomach wind and pain and also soothes insect bites. It is also applicable for cases of travel sickness, cough and flu for the baby. Your travel pack is surely not complete without one of these.

7. Have fun

‘Cos you deserve to enjoy every moment of the journey with that little bundle of joy trudging along with you.
